Yesterday was the wedding of Miss Sarah Tucker to Mr. David Blount. I have to say I was very excited about this particular wedding. I met David when I was shooting the portrait for the cover of his book, The Strong Foundation. It was during this session that he told me about a little project he was working on for his girlfriend Sarah. A couple of weeks later he brought me a stacks of pictures to scan and fix and print so that they could be taken to a quilter. A little surprise gift for the proposal. A quilt that told the story of them....yes ladies...apparently there is a few romantics left and David Blount is one of them. I felt like I knew Sarah before I even met her after working on their pictures. She is just as sweet as David and working with them was a true pleasure. The ceremony took place at St. Aloysius. The best part about the ceremony was the vows that they wrote for each other. I know David wrote a book...but Sarah's vows were amazingly eloquent. They were so moving! The reception was held at the Cincinnati Music Hall. Here is a little sample of their day.

Tonight's Senior

Tonight's senior was Neil from Lebanon High School. He braved one of the hottest days of the year without a complaint. This is the first time I have actually met him, although I have watched him perform in quite a few of our school's musicals. He is a very talented kid! I had a great time with him and his mom during his session. Here area a few sneak peeks.

Brandy and Patrick

Yesterday was the wedding of Brandy and Patrick. It may have been cold and dreary outside but you would never know it by looking at these two. Plans for an outdoor wedding changed about 15 minutes before the ceremoney was set to begin. It didn't phase them for a minute, the ceremeny was moved to the reception hall and they didn't stop smiling once. Brandy was just smiling ear to ear through the whole thing. Between the personal vows and the amazing voices of their freinds' singing...the guests (and the photograher) were all a little teary. What an amazing couple! I wish them all the best on their new life together!

Baby Ben

My mom got a new baby yesterday. His name is Ben. He named for Ben Nevis.....the tallest mountain in Scotland. Those of you that know me know that my Mom is from Scotland. Born and raised there. She said he is a little dog with a big personality. So there you go.....the story behind the name.

Anyway, every new baby in our family has to get pictures taken immediately....Ben was no exception. He came this morning for his first official Chapelo Photography portrait session. Isn't he a doll!

This afternoon I had the joy of meeting Memphis. He is the newborn son of an old high school friend and neighbor. His Mom grew up next door to me. You can see for yourself how gorgeous he is! Just like his Momma. He didn't fuss at all during the whole session...I hope he keeps that easy going attitude for his mom and dad's sake. ;)

Anniston turned 3 on Saturday, so it was time for her pictures once again. I love this little girl. Her personality is awesome and she was very excited about her session. I have been taking her pictures since she was in her Momma's tummy so we are old friends at this point. She was quite chatty through the whole session and I was sad when it was done. The blue outfit is one I have in the studio so if you have a little girl that likes to play dress up bring her on it. :)

In November I took a trip to New Orleans to attend a photography workshop. I try to go to these types of events 2-3 times a year to keep fresh and creative and because there is never a point when I want to stop learning. This was my first time in this city and I have to say I LOVED it. My favorite part was definitely the food. But I also enjoyed soaking in the culture and everything about the city. I thought I would share some one what I shot while I was there.

Today I was honored to photograph the wedding of Maria and Christian. As an Air Force veteran I was especially excited because both the bride and groom are currently serving our country as officers in the USAF! Maria or Aria as she is called by her family and friends was glowing from the moment I arrived at her parents home. I am sure she is still glowing as I type this. We lucked out with a gorgeous day. It was a bit chilly but my couple never complained during the entire outdoor portion of our pictures. The ceremony was at St. Margaret of York with the reception held at the Marriott Northeast. The ceremony was beautiful and they didn't miss a detail at the reception. So many elements made this a perfect day for a perfectly radiant bride and groom. Here are a few from today's couple.

Yesterday was gorgeous, wasn't it? What better way to spend it than capturing the wedding of two wonderful people. Aynsley and Tom have been clients of mine in the past. I have photographed their gorgeous daughter Ella a few times already and so I was thrilled to have the honor of capturing their wedding day. The ceremony was at Knox Presbyterian Church in Hyde Park with the reception at the Contemporary Arts Center. We had everything from perfect fall color to guest appearance from Elvis to make this day unforgettable! Here are a few from their day.

So yesterday while you all were on watching reruns of America's Got Talent and The Biggest Loser I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Kyle and Amanda. What a wild day to say the least. We have all heard the saying that rain is good luck on your wedding day, so what does a Tornado warning mean? Yes I am serious, just as we were ready to head out to the Buckeye Stadium to take photographs on the field (Kyle and Amanda are both Alumni) The tornado sirens were going off and the weather turned bad. But with a determined couple we pressed on anyway...I loved that about them! Determined not to miss her shot Amanda went full speed in the rain in her gown onto the field. We were given a very nice bonus when Archie Griffin (I had to look at my notes to get the name right...I do not know ANYTHING about the buckeyes or football) anyway, he came onto the field and took a quick shot with our bridal party. After playing in the rain it was time to go back and get married...the wedding and reception were both held at BoMA. It is an AWESOME spot for an event. What a wondeful way to spend a Thursday...here is a little peek of my new favorite couple.

I may not have shot Chelsea Clinton's wedding on Saturday....but I got the next best thing

So this past Saturday the country seemed to be enamored with the wedding of Chelsea Clinton...I will be honest and say I don't know the name of her new husband so that is why it is not on here. :) Obviously I was NOT one of the people following the story...why did I not care...maybe because I had my own wedding to shoot. I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Hilary Mock to her new husband Kevin VanderMolen...(notice I know the names of the IMPORTANT grooms. ) haha

Anyway....the day was perfect...the weather was wonderful and the bride and groom were awesome!

Couple of details to note...the dress may not have been a Vera Wang...but I think Hilary topped it by walking down the aisle in the dress that both her grandmother and mother wore...so take that Chelsea Clinton. She then changed into her own gown for the party. Two wedding dresses was a first for me...it was awesome.

I don't know how Bill's speech went...but there was NO WAY it was better than the speech given by Hilary's dad. I was shooting through some tears during that one. And the father/daughter dance was AWESOME.

There were 4 little ones in the ceremony...after the wagon was pulled down the aisle they went to the back of the church for a little snack during the rest of the ceremony....he was so much happier to have his shirt and tie off...I just couldn't help but snap this.

This weekend I spent my Saturday photographing the wedding of Jessie and JC. The first thing I need to say is Jessie was the smiliest bride ever! She was grinning ear to ear all day...I am sure her smile muscles were sore. It was also obvious how much in love JC is with his bride. These two are high school sweethearts and they are adorable together! The second I need to say is Jessie's sister is one talented lady. She made Jessie's wedding gown and it was amazing! What a special gift to be able to give your sister. OK, now that I got those to things out of the way...I hope you enjoy the pictures of their special day.

Love is in the air...

Yesterday I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Courtney and Ryan. The ceremony took place at Swasey Chapel which is on the campus of Denison University. The reception was the Creekside in Gahanna Ohio. Both locations were new to me since they were a couple of hours away from where I live. I wish they were closer because I LOVED these spots. The university campus was gorgeous and the chapel was stunning. But my favorite part about shooting this wedding was the couple themselves. There were so many personal elements throughout the whole day that really spoke about this couple and who they are. From Courtney's uncle being able to actually perform the marriage ceremony to heading to the baseball field on campus where Ryan played ball while going to school there... it was a day full of fun and memories! It is such a joy to work with such great people and their families. I truly am blessed with what I do. Here are a few from their day.

So most of you know that I have been renovating a new studio in the heart of downtown Lebanon. It has been a VERY LONG few months and I have been covered in drywall dust and paint on a daily basis. The day I made my last miter cut was a thrilling one to say the least. I have learned a TON about renovating and construction in the process...but most of all I have learned why I am a photographer and NOT a contractor. :) Needless to say I am THRILLED to announce that on Sunday May 2nd I will be holding the Grand Opening Event! Over the past week I have had the fun of shooting a couple senior sessions. It is late in the school year for that, so I was thrilled to have a couple of girls to shoot and have a good time with. First up was Holly...she was a good sport of running around downtown in the cold and we got some great shots that made it all worthwhile.

Sweet Little Gabby

Yesterday in Cincinnati we had an unseasonably warm and gorgeous day, so how fitting to spend it shooting a wedding. Yesterday Kristen and Andy tied the knot and they did in style to say the least. I started my day with Kristen at her Mom and Dad's home in West Chester. What can I say about this family except they were some of the most gracious and sweet people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Their daughter is no different and that made my day and my job even better. Now as you scroll down you will also notice that Kristen happens to be stunningly beautiful. Which also makes my job even better ;) Andy looked quite dashing as well....and both families seemed so thrilled to be adding a new member into their unit. After the ceremony at St. John the Evangelist the party started at the Marriott for cocktails with the reception to follow at the Manor House. The group partied the whole way through and I think that was the most fun I have ever seen guests have at a wedding. Two wonderful families and a wonderful celebration...a perfect day for Kristen and Andy

After Dark in Austin

Last month I went to Austin Texas for a photography seminar called AfterDark. We shot every night until about 2am which, of course, is why it is named that. I had a great time and learned a ton. With Austin being the live music capital of the world the models that we were working with were musicians. It was an awesome experience of working and learning from each other. Such an awesome group of photographers were there. Here are a few shots from my time there.

A couple of months ago, I did a charity session for a wonderful little family. The Dad was being deployed for a tour in Iraq and before he went the Mom contacted me about a family session. I donated my time and met them at Ault Park in Cincinnati to capture a few moments together before he had to leave for duty. This week I will be sending him an album as a gift from Chapelo Photography to show our appreciation for his gift of service to our country. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and as a veteran myself I would like to thank him and all of the men and women that sacrifice everyday for our freedom!

Connor Michael Denning

My nephew is finally here. Connor Michael Denning was born on October 25th and weighed 7lbs 2.9 oz. He came in a week ago for his newborn session. Here is a collage of his session. Thought I was due for another senior post. The month of August has been nuts so forgive me for not posting often. Today was Erin's turn for her senior session. I shot her brother's portraits last year and I was thrilled to get to capture Erin's as well. She is a natural to say the least. I had so much fun working with her. After her indoor session it was time to head outside and brave the heat. Not a complaint from her and I think she would have shot with me all night long. I loved working with her and may just bring her back when I am looking for a model to work with. Here is Erin!

Talk about a short commute to work, I think it took me all of 5 minutes to get there! Saturday was the wedding of Dessine and Andrew. The couple was fabulous, the weather was superb, and the whole wedding party was just full of energy and excitement! I won't go on and on about how gorgeous the bride looked....you will be able to see that for yourself, but I will say I could not have had a more fun day of shooting! Andrew has a habit of working the camera and cracking me up! He was a groomsman in a past wedding I shot and was pleased to see his personality was still just as fun.

Adam's Senior Session

On Wednesday evening it was Adam's turn for senior portraits. Adam is a senior at Moeller High School and plays football there, so his location of choice was his school. Last Saturday was the wedding of Lauren and Joe. We all sat anxiously watching our local weather radars because the weather was a bit iffy to say the least. It rained allllll day and I was not sure how the day was gonna work out. The ceremony AND reception was outdoors. But as my assistant and I drove up to the location blue started peeking through the clouds and before we knew it the sun was out and the day was perfect!!!! What a beautiful wedding for a wonderful couple. I loved working with them and their families! Here is a little peek from the day.

Saturday was another day full of wedding bliss...this time the couple was Nicole and Chris. The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Manor House in Mason. The weather held up beautifully for the outdoor ceremony and the reception was spectacular. Everyone was in great spirits and the families were a joy to work with. Angela and Ryan's Wedding

Friday was the big day for Angela and Ryan! We had big plans to make it to Spring Grove for outdoor pictures but the weather had other plans for us. So the one thing you have to be as a wedding photographer is flexible! :) Thankfully Ryan's parents had a large covered deck for us to utilize during the downpour so we still go the feel of being outdoors. Angela took it all in stride. Not much could phase her on her big day. It was quite obvious what her focus of the day was....Just to get married to the man she loves. Today's Wedding Couple

Today I had the honor of capturing the wedding for Lindsay and Lou. The wedding took place at the New Freedom Church in historic downtown Lebanon. They could not have gotten a more gorgeous day to be married and I don't think I could have gotten a more gorgeous bride to photograph. I had a great afternoon with their whole family. It was a great way to kick of my wedding season! So here are a few from today.

Sawyer is turning 1 this month and to mark this occasion his mom brought him in for some portraits. We ended our session with the birthday cake so we could make a collage. You can see why we end the session this way. The only thing that can be done after this is a bath. Sawyer looooved the icing as you can see. What a great boy he is!

Little Ella

Yestarday Ella came for her newborn session. She is gorgeous as you can tell. But what you can't tell is what a great baby she is. We were in the studio quite awhile and she was a trooper. Only fussed when she got hungry, so a quick snack and she was back in the swing of things. She stayed awake until the very last few minutes, I think she was afraid of missing out on the fun. Meet Charlie and his Mom and Dad, Maria and Brian. I have the honor of capturing Maria and Brian's wedding coming up in May, so this weekend they came in for their engagement session. This weekend I went to New Hampshire. Why would I leave the first weekend of really warm weather in Ohio? Well, to study Pin Up Photography with the master Robert Alvarado! What a great weekend full of learning I had. I am really excited about introducing this style. I think it will be a great gift to give the man in your life. What a fun photoshoot and fun product! Babysitting Taylor

Yesterday I babysat my niece, and I just happened to have my camera on hand (I know you are shocked!) So I took a few shots while we were playing. I loved the way they turned out (but then again, I love her) so I thought I would share a few. This is basically the kind of thing I would do if I was on a location shoot at a clients home. It just happened to be at my home instead.

So what did I do with my Saturday night? Well, we all headed up to Xenia to a little club called the Cavern to watch my son's band perform. They are called NO CLUE and they rocked! How fun it was to see them actually perform. I have listened to rehearsels for months, so it sure was fun to see it all come together. They won and are onto ound 3 in April. I think my hearing will come back in a few days :) Here are a few shots from the gig.

Taylor Turns 1!

Well a whole year has gone by. Can you believe my niece is actually one! It makes me so sad how fast the year has gone by. She came in for some photos in her new dress that her Uncle Lindley bought her. She doesn't sit still for long and she had her Gran running all over the studio after her. She is still such a happy baby. We all just adore her!

After the pretty dress out came the birthday cake. Taylor looooves to eat. We could see the sugar high take effect. It was so much fun!

Friday night Dancekids in Lebanon had their open house. This is when the competition team has a chance to run through their routines in costume before the real competition season starts. It was held at Franklin high school. Those of you that know me know that my daughter Mackenzie dances at Dancekids. Did you spot her in the photos above? Anyway, the kids did an awesome job and they looked great! I can't wait for the season to really start.

Today is Anniston's Birthday!

Today Anniston is officially 1 year old! You all have seen her grow this year from when she was in her Mom's tummy until now. What fun it has been to see her grow this year. And so to celebrate Anniston came in for her photo shoot to enjoy her birthday cake! I think she is still in shock over the fact she was allowed to go to town on a cake and no one was stopping her. Good luck to Jennifer and Anthony trying to get her down for her sugar high to take her nap. :)

How I brought in the New Year!

So what did I do on New Year's Eve? Well, I had the honor of capturing the wedding of Jennifer and Joey! I just absolutely adore this couple. I can honestly say they are one of the nicest couples I have ever worked with(and I am not just saying that because they are going to read this). :) The ceremony took place at the Basilica in Covington, KY. With the party at The Phoenix in Cincinnati. These two were all about the party and what a grand party it was. The Grand Ballroom at the Phoenix didn't even look the same after they were done bringing in special lighting to give it that New Years Ball effect.

Nightmare High School

Once again AJ is involved in the Lebanon Jr. High Drama Club. I LOVE the fact that he is doing this again. This year's fall play is called Nightmare High School. Last night was the opening performance. He plays a mad scientist kind of teacher. He did an outstanding job, as did the rest of the cast. It was a great show. We will be there for tonight's performance as well. So much fun!

It snowed yesterday...

It may have snowed yesterday but that didn't stop Shannon! She was still up for outdoor senior pictures. What a great sport she was. We had so much fun in the snow. I could not have asked for a better senior in such cold conditions! She didn't complain once. After the session was done we met her Mom at the Village Ice Cream Parlor downtown Lebanon for some Hot Cocoa. Thanks again for the cocoa. Tristan and Noah

Let me start with a little back story...Missy is my very best friend. She is more like a sister really..so I can say she hates bringing the kids in for pictures and feel 100% confident that it is not because of me. :) It totally stresses her out. Every year at Christmas we do her Christmas Card pic and every year it is an adventure to say the least. I ALWAYS have to do a little photoshop head swapping to make all of the kids look happy (or at least not crying). So last week we had put it off long enough! It was time.
This year we decided on a family portrait so that we could keep Sam contained since he is not at the age of sitting still. But we were still a little worried about Jayne (I LOVE Jayne, but she does not always do what you want her to do, she is at that age). Well...this year she proved us all wrong...she was FANTASTIC and we got all that we needed in 10 minutes! Missy and I were completely thrilled and totally shocked :) Here is what will be on this years card.

This evening my daughter's school had their talent show...Berry Idol. :) Mackenzie did a dance (which is of no suprise to any of you that know her). She danced to an old 50's song called Goody Goody. She was awesome. I am always amazed how at ease she is when she is on stage. I get so nervous for her I guess there is no need for her to be nervous too. :) Somehow I was able to take pics even though my hands were shaking . hahaha..here are a few of them.

Sawyer came for his 6 month portrait session on Saturday afternoon. He was in quite a serious mood. No matter what goofy stuff Mom and I did he would not crack a grin. We had to resort to tickling his tummy to get smiles. But even with his most serious of faces you can't help but love him. He has the best big blue eyes!
